A DRUG driver who smashed into a garden wall on Lever Park Avenue, Horwich, has been electronically tagged and made subject to a curfew.

Bolton magistrates heard how Nathan Lucas, aged 21, of Perth Avenue, Ince, had used cocaine and cannabis and then drove a Vauxhall Astra on June 5.

He lost control of the vehicle and it collided with a wall. Lucas tested positive for drugs at the scene and was arrested.

In court he pleaded guilty to drug driving and careless driving.

Magistrates ordered him to have treatment for drug addiction and he must participate in eight days of rehabilitation activities.

Lucas’ 7pm to 7am curfew lasts for eight weeks, he was banned from driving for two years and must pay £180 in costs and charges.
