A WINTER wonderland has been created at a Bolton garden centre - in time for a festive market.

More than 25 independent retailers will descend on Heaton Fold tomorrow night to savour a selection of artisan products.

Mulled wine and black peas are both destined to be on sale to warm and Father Christmas will also be in attendance. The night market will run from 5pm to 8pm.

Mayor of Bolton Cllr Linda Thomas recently paid a visit to the garden centre to check out their yuletide arrangements.

She was helped by students who have learning disabilities and regularly undertake work experience at the garden centre, to choose a Christmas tree for the Mayor’s Parlour.

Cllr Thomas said: “It was great to get down to the garden centre and see all that’s on offer this Christmas.

“They have a large selection of trees available, and it was a lovely afternoon selecting the town hall tree with the students.

“The night market is a good chance to get some Christmas shopping done and support local independent businesses.”

Promoters say this year’s Christmas activities have been planned with Covid measures in mind, creating a safe environment for all visitors with appropriate precautions to keep everyone safe.

Anyone attending a Christmas event this year is being asked to take a rapid home Covid test before visiting the town centre.
