A FESTIVE auction is getting underway which will also spread the Yuletide spirit to a range of good caused in Bolton.

This comes as Bolton Council launches its "might mince pie auction" in which celebrity, national and local chefs will be creating a dozen special signature treats to sell to the highest bidders.

All proceeds will go to Urban Outreach, Fortalice, Backup, The Octagon Theatre and Halliwell Befriending.

Mayor of Bolton Cllr Linda Thomas said: "This auction is a fun way to get into the festive spirit and raise money for some worthy causes at the same time."

Residents can show their support by bidding in the online auction.

Those with the highest bids will be contacted by the mayor’s office to arrange courier delivery on December 20 and the mince pies will be delivered between December 21 and 23.

Alternatively, people can donate directly to the mayor’s office by calling 01204 331090 or emailing mayorsoffice@bolton.gov.uk.

The auction is now live and running until 9pm this Sunday, December 19.
