A TALENTED youngster has seen her Christmas card design sent to some of Westminster's finest.

Eight-year-old Gabriel Rose Unsworth, who attends St Phillip's CE Primary in Atherton, was picked out as the winner of Bolton West MP Chris Green's festive greeting competition.

Four runners-up are also featuring on the inside cover of the card, which will also be posted to The Queen and more local dignitaries. All five will receive prizes donated by Hollywood Bowl in Bolton.

These include Naomi Bradbrook, aged 7 from Beaumont Primary, Elizabeth Buxton, aged nine, from St George’s CE Primary, Laila Patel, also aged nine, from Markland Hill Primary, and Evie Blakestone, aged 10 from Eatock Primary.

Mr Green said: "It was a delight to once again be able to run this competition and each time it’s always so difficult to choose a winner.

“It was fantastic to have over a thousand entries from schoolchildren to participate in this year’s competition and there were some truly fab designs.

“I would like to congratulate Gabriel, Naomi, Elizabeth, Laila and Evie on their winning designs, and I’d also like to thank our kind sponsor Hollywood Bowl Bolton for supporting the competition prizes.”
