MORE tributes have been paid to a Bolton legend, who died earlier this month from pancreatic cancer.

The Bolton News published an obituary to Dennis Connor on December 24 but our readers and friends and family have left their own messages on our website and social media.

Here are just a selection of the tributes to the 70-year-old.

Jean Bromley said: "My brother-in-law Dennis was an amazing man we had many a laugh. He loved my sister Kath so much. He will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten."

Jim Hargreaves added : "Lost contact with Dennis many years ago, we went to same infants and secondary school Tonge Fold.

"We played in same football for many years along with Frank his brother.

"Dennis as quoted was always loud and joyful to be with and liked the odd fight or two.

"Sad way for you to leave us but you will now be able to meet our best friend Harold Young who lost his life in an accident aged just 10. Lots of love to your family at this time."

Carol Ann Richardson added: "Rest in peace Dennis lovely man my condolences to all the family thinking of you at this difficult time x."

Deborah Collier said: "Broke the mould when they made Dennis. What a man."

Tina Lyon said: "RIP Dennis you were always a friendly lovable guy xx"

Megan Louise said: "Most down to earth, genuine man and foster carer you could ever meet. RIP Dennis. Thinking about Kath and all the family xxx."

Bev Heywood said: "True gentleman and one amazing sense of humour RIP Dennis."

Daughter Leyanne Weaver added: "You had the best turn out dad! Love and miss you so much. You would have been so proud of yesterday! We did what you wanted! We did it your way."

Knibb Homeahound Tracey said: "R.I.P Dennis from all the Knibbs....mainly my dad! You were as they've said a true legend...one in a million."

One person named as 'GerryTaggartsBoots' on the Bolton News website said: "Good bloke was Dennis, that proper Salt of the Earth type that you don't see much of anymore.

"Always had time of day for everyone and had everyone's respect and admiration. Could sink a pint or two as well!

"Be sadly missed. God bless and RIP fella."

Another person called sandra17 said: "Dennis was a great fella was a great friend to Pete, Chris, Wayne, Tom and many others.

"Ste Hoyle at Northern Way is doing a charity night in January and hopefully raise a huge amount for a good cause.

"Rest in peace Dennis and sincere sympathies to Kath and all the family you will be greatly missed x"
