A YOUNG man has died of his injuries after a three car crash in Bolton last week.

The crash occurred on St Helens Road in the early hours of Tuesday December 21 when a white Ford Focus ST collided with a black Vauhall Corsa near to the junction with Brandwood Street, with the Corsa then colliding with a third parked vehicle.

Police were called just after 5.30am alongside other emergency services and a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he died on Wednesday December 29.

PC Oliver Batty, of GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said "This is a devastating incident in which a young man has sadly lost his life.

"Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and to members of the community who knew him."

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene to assist police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made and police have urged witness to come forward.

PC Batty added: "We are still appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it.

"I appeal directly to anyone who may have witnessed this or to anyone who has dash-cam or CCTV footage of this incident.

"This collision happened early in the morning, during the week and we are hopeful that there will have been a number of people who saw this incident and they may be able to assist police with enquiries.”
