BOLTON Library and Museum will be shut on Sunday, January 30 as part of the transformation of Le Mans Crescent.
Work will be carried out directly outside the building as part of ongoing public realm works.
The library will reopen on the Monday as usual.
Work is underway to improve links between Bolton town centre and the market.
Sections of Howell Croft South and Ashburner Street, between Le Mans Crescent and Black Horse Street, have been dug up as part of plans to create a one-way road.
The work will pave the way to transform the area, and increase the number of visitors to that side of Bolton.
Bolton Council says the work is part of its plans to create a ‘public realm’ in the town centre, with many developments planned from Moor Lane through to Victoria Square.
Plans include widening the footpath to allow for more outside seating for their cafe/bar as well as trees on the street.
