WANDERERS return to League One action as they welcome Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe to the UniBol.

Ian Evatt’s men suffered a 1-0 defeat at Hartlepool in the Papa John’s Trophy in their last outing, with Matt Daly scoring the decisive goal six minutes from time.

Team news

Kieran Lee is back in contention for Wanderers after missing the last two matches with Covid.

Gethin Jones has returned to full training after spending several months on the sidelines due to a fractured fibula.

However, Andrew Tutte (hamstring), Josh Sheehan (knee) and Lloyd Isgrove (hamstring) all remain sidelined.

Head-to-head

Wycombe sit third in the League One table, having lost just five matches so far this season.

Ainsworth’s men held Sunderland to a thrilling 3-3 draw in their last outing, with Joe Jacobson scoring a dramatic late equaliser.

Wanderers have only faced the Chairboys three times in their history and have never won in the fixture.

The Buckinghamshire club ran out 2-0 winners when the sides last met at the UniBol back in February 2020 thanks to Jacobson and an Aristote Nsiala own goal.

Last meeting

Wycombe recorded a narrow 1-0 victory when the sides met at Adams Park earlier in the season.

Sam Vokes scored the decisive goal, finding the top corner with a looping header 18 minutes from time.

Joel Dixon had earlier saved Anis Mehmeti’s penalty after the midfielder went down in the box under MJ Williams’ challenge.

At the other end, David Stockdale made a couple of smart stops to deny Dapo Afolayan and Elias Kachunga.

Predicted line-up
