Two civilians and a police officer have been taken to hospital after they entered the water at Bradshaw Brook.
Bolton Central Fire, Leigh Fire and Eccles Fire were all called yesterday evening at around 10pm to Bradshaw Brook opposite Canon Slade in Tonge Moor after two people entered the water.
Police were also at the scene to rescue the people from the water.
A spokesperson from Bolton Central Fire station said: "We were called to Bradshaw Brook at around 10pm last night after two people entered the water, reasons unknown.
"Two civilians and a police officer have been taken to hospital."
The fire service did a thorough search to make sure everyone was out of the water.
The Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information.
