A MAN taken to hospital in a critical condition after suffering stab wounds following a mass brawl is now in stable condition, police have said.
Police were were called to Bolton town centre to a report of a large group of people fighting near Bolton bus interchange on Wednesday evening.
A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. He is now in a stable condition.
A second man was also taken to hospital with slash wounds and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
He has since been released on bail.
Now police are renewing their appeal for information.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Anyone with information, dash cam footage or mobile phone footage from Trinity Way between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday should contact Bolton CID on 0161 856 5757 quoting 2440 12/01/2022.
"Alternatively, the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
"Information can also be reported online or by using the Live Chat function at www.gmp.police.uk."
A large area of Great Moor Street was cordoned off following the large fight and police remained on the scene until Thursday afternoon.
Police have recently been carrying out a high-profile operation in and around the bus station following reports of anti-social behaviour.
And on Wednesday night they said specialist officers were again sent to the station following anti-social and criminal behaviour, during which staff were abused by youths.
