A LEADING finance firm in Bolton has launched an ambitious charity challenge for 2022.

Staff and bosses at K3 Captial Group, based at Middlebrook, are taking on 'Around the World in 30 Days'.

For the 30-day fundraiser, which began on Friday, their more than 500 employees are being encouraged to run, swim row or cycle their way across the globe.

That's collectively going to be 25,000 miles, with the group pledging a £1 in sponsorship for every mile achieved.

One team, representing Knight Corporate Finance, will be cycling the equivalent distance from the north west to London.

Some of the charities which will benefit from the challenge include the NSPCC, international development organisation We See Hope, mental health charity Mind, Bowel Cancer UK and Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Further suggestions on good causes are also being sought from employees.

John Rigby, K3 Capital Group chief executive, said: "Everyone at the group is excited and motivated to raise as much money as possible for these fantastic charities.

"Covid has restricted our ability to run the usual office-based appeals with many of our staff working remotely, and so we wanted to organise something that allows them to take part from wherever they are, while also getting fitter, healthier, and ready to take on 2022."

The company is providing regular updates for the workforce, with a live tracker running on their website.
