Three men have been arrested after police responded to reports of a robbery and car theft in Leigh.
Police say that they responded to a call last Saturday, at around 8.20pm, of a robbery and vehicle theft on St Helens Road.
Officers then chased the car while occupants threw objects at the police vehicle from the window.
The car was then abandoned on Weston Street and the three men were chased on foot by officers.
The three men, aged between 20 and 24, have now been arrested on suspicion of robbery, drug and driving offences and remain in custody for questioning.
A GMP spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 2623 of January 16. Alternatively details can be passed via our LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
