TALKS have progressed between Wanderers and Millwall forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, according to reports.

Ian Evatt wants the Iceland international on loan and had hoped to have the deal done in time for Saturday’s trip to Shrewsbury.

The Whites reportedly face competition from another League One side to land the striker.

However, there had been doubts over whether Millwall would allow Bodvarsson to leave in the January transfer window after team-mate Tom Bradshaw suffered an injury against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, Millwall boss Gary Rowett said there had not yet been an offer of sufficient value for the Iceland international.

“We haven't had anything sufficient enough to decide we want to let anyone go out the door at the moment,” said the Millwall chief.

However, a report from London News Online suggests negotiations have progressed early this week and the forward could be heading for the exit door.

Wanderers have already brought in Dion Charles, Marlon Fossey, Aaron Morley and James Trafford in the January window so far.

But Evatt is keen to bolster his frontline following Eoin Doyle’s move to League of Ireland side St Patrick’s Athletic earlier this month.

The Whites sit 17th in the League One table – five points above the drop zone – after Saturday’s 2-0 win against Ipswich.
