A WOMAN was arrested last night on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and public order offences at a bus station.
Police officers from Greater Manchester Police's specialist transport unit arrested the 27-year-old while on patrol around Leigh Bus Station and the surrounding area on the evening of Tuesday January 18.
The woman was alleged to have been causing disturbances and to have committed a racially charged assault and was arrested at around 10.35pm.
A police spokesperson said: "Owing to her volatile and aggressive nature she has been conveyed to custody and will be interviewed in the morning.
"Behaviour like this absolutely will not be tolerated and we continue to work with Greater Manchester TravelSafe partners to tackle this unacceptable behaviour."
