A MAN has been jailed for offences including theft and criminal damage committed around Bolton town centre.

Paul Barry Vail, 48 of no fixed abode Bolton, pleaded guilty at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Monday to a total of four offences.

His crimes ranged from theft and criminal damage to threatening and abusive behaviour and he was also charged with five breaches to his prison licence conditions.

A police spokesman said: "Vail had been causing numerous issues for individuals and businesses in Bolton town centre but owing to the hard work of your town centre neighbourhood team he is now back behind bars."

Vail was given a 22-week sentence by magistrates.
