WANDERERS winger Xavier Amaechi will return to training next week after missing several games with a hamstring injury.

Amaechi – who had his loan from Hamburg extended earlier this month – hasn’t featured since the 1-0 defeat at Accrington Stanley.

The Whites have no new injury concerns for this weekend’s clash with Shrewsbury Town at New Meadow.

Meanwhile, Lloyd Isgrove, Josh Sheehan and Andrew Tutte are all making progress with their respective recoveries.

"We’re all good,” said Bolton boss Ian Evatt. “Xav is getting closer and closer. He’ll be back in training next week.

“Lloyd is progressing well, Tuttey is progressing well although he had a slight setback with his calf.

“Josh Sheehan is back in the building having regular treatment and rehab, so that is progressing nicely.

“Everyone else is okay. We had a minor scare with Marlon (Fossey) but we’ve had him looked at and scanned, and there are no issues at all which is good news.

“I’m happy with where we are at and, touch wood, we can go there all systems go on Saturday.”

Isgrove suffered a grade three hamstring tear in the 3-0 win against Doncaster back in November, and Evatt admits his absence isn’t ideal.

He added: “Izzy is a big personality and someone who we have missed. An experienced player and can play in loads of positions.

“We’re looking forward to having him back.”

Evatt is delighted with the number of options he has at his disposal following a tough couple of months due to the Whites’ injury crisis.

Moreover, the recent arrivals of Aaron Morley and James Trafford – who both made their debuts against Ipswich last weekend – have further bolstered the squad.

He said: “This morning, sometimes it’s only when you put the names up on the training board and you see who is fit and available and who is injured and what the squad looks like in the specific departments and all of a sudden, it looks a completely different team and squad and there’s a completely different feel about them.

“I thought that on Saturday before the game. I thought there was a real energy and buzz about them and I’ve noticed the same this week.

“There seems to be a better energy. They’re holding each other accountable more, but in the right way, the right manner and they’re bouncing, which is great to see.

“But we have to back up what was a good performance on Saturday.”
