WANDERERS have made Iceland international Jon Dadi Bodvarsson their fifth signing of the January transfer window.

The forward arrives on a free transfer after coming to an agreement on the remainder of his contract with Millwall.

Bodvarsson began his career in Iceland with Selfoss before joining Norwegian side Viking, where he scored 23 goals in 92 games.

His performances earned a move to Kaiserslautern in 2016, but the forward made just 15 appearances for the German club.

Several months later, Bodvarsson then made the move to England play for Kenny Jackett’s Wolves in the Championship.

But his time at Molineux didn’t go to plan, scoring just three times in 48 appearances for the Midlands outfit.

The forward then spent a couple of years at Reading before heading to Millwall in the summer of 2019.

He has found the net seven times in 76 games for the Lions and has been limited to just one appearance this season, coming off the bench in a 3-1 win against Cambridge in the League Cup.

Bodvarsson has also been a regular at international level, having earned 62 caps for Iceland.

He was part of the side that beat England 2-1 in the last 16 at Euro 2016, assisting Kolbeinn Sigthorsson’s winning goal.

Wanderers have had long-term interest in the forward, having enquired about his services over the summer.

His arrival at the UniBol bolsters Ian Evatt’s attacking options following Eoin Doyle’s recent move to St Patrick’s Athletic.
