Seized: The BMW had broken down on the A666
A BMW has been seized after breaking down on a busy road when police discovered the driver had no insurance.
Greater Manchester Police reported on Saturday afternoon that the car was found broken down on the A666 in Bolton, which has causing difficulties for traffic along the busy road, which cuts all the way through the town.
Traffic police were called to the scene and on speaking to the driver found that the silver BMW had no insurance.
According to officers, it had been cancelled as the driver had failed to send off the correct documentation.
The driver was then reported and the car seized.
Officers took the opportunity to remind members of the public of the importance of driving insured.
