AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a car was involved in a crash on a major Bolton road after falling to stop for police.

The crash happened at around 10.15am on Sunday when police requested a black Audi A3 to stop on Brownlow Way, Bolton.

But the car failed to stop and instead drove off at speed before crashing at the junction of Chorley Old Road and Myrtle Street.

Police were called to the scene and taped off part of the area for much of Sunday.

Officers are now appealing for anyone in the area who may have witnessed anything or who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.
