A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a 79-year-old man in Bolton by careless driving early last year.
Kenneth Magill suffered fatal injuries after he was in collision with a blue VW Golf in Market Street in Little Lever in January 2021.
The 79-year-old, who had been walking home from a nearby club after a day out with friends, was initially taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.
Police later confirmed he had died from his injuries the following month.
Anne Ferguson, 53, appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of causing the death by inconsiderate or careless driving.
Ferguson, of Calf Hey Close, Radcliffe, elected for a crown court hearing on the matter.
The 54-year-old was released on bail by magistrates and instructed to attend at Bolton Crown Court next month for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
