The Mayor of Bolton is inviting people from across the borough to attend her charity ball in Bolton Town Hall.

Cllr Linda Thomas will be hosting a glitz and glamour themed Diamond Ball, which is sure to impress, on Friday February 25, from 6.30pm until late

All proceeds raised will go to the mayor’s five local charities - Fortalice, Backup Northwest, Halliwell Befriending service, the Octagon Theatre and Urban Outreach.

Guests will have a complimentary drink on arrival and the evening will consist of a three course meal with entertainment from The Diamond Collective, an all-female cast singing musical theatre showstoppers and compered by Anita Ryan.

The professional singers, some of which are from the West End, will be showcasing hits from the musicals and theatre shows.

The ball is sponsored by The Emerson Group, which has been supporting the Mayor’s Ball for nearly 30 years.

Dress code is dress to impress, with suggestions of black tie, lounge suit and cocktail dress. No trainers or denim are allowed.

Cllr Thomas, said she is really looking forward to the ball.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to the ball. It’s the first one allowed in two years due to the pandemic.

“I hope we get a lot of support for my five local charities all in need of funds.

“It will be an evening of dazzling entertainment from seven professional female singers. A Diamond Collective Evening with songs from musical theatre.

“My daughter, Emma Lori, and her three friends are Diamond Collective but they have involved others especially for this evening.

“My daughter, and her friend Emma Jemevents, entertained us at the Remembrance Concert and offered to perform for charity at the ball.

“I would like to say a big thanks to Emerson Group for their continued unstinting support.”

The ball will take place at Bolton Albert Halls, and tickets are priced at £50, with eight to one table.

Tickets are now on sale at the Octagon Theatre, both at the box office and online at https://bit.ly/3IvuhAg.

Cllr Thomas said everyone is invited, ‘the more the merrier’.
