Give us some history about the pub:

Beer house in 1830, eventually becoming a Walkers Pub in the 1950’s, it became the first Tetley house in 1960 bought by Punch Taverns 1996 and is now a Heineken Star and Bars pub, it’s been a free house for 15 years.

What makes us different to other pubs is that this is a real traditional one stuck in a bubble from the 1950s. You have a great atmosphere and then you have the artwork and murals which people still come to take photographs of them.

Large covered and heated beer garden which is popular all year round.

We have darts, pool and quiz teams

Most popular drink served is:

San Migel

Most memorable moment at the pub:

The pub has been used in many films and TV series. We have been approached seven or eight times and one time it was for a film called Cricket and one of the scenes the characters were talking in a car but it needed to rain so I stood on the flat roof with a hose pipe to make it look like rain.

Bolton University have filmed some stuff here too and then Al Murray, the pub landlord featured us as the Pub of the Week. We also have been in magazines including Take a Break.

Do you have an entertainment line-up?

No

Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
