A TEENAGER has been arrested and bailed after two people were badly injured in a stabbing.

Police and emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing on Manchester Road, Walkden, on Sunday February 6 at around 11pm and an injured 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were taken to hospital..

Police have now confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assaults and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective inspector Chris Horsfield, of GMP's Salford district, said: "This was a violent assault which resulted in two people being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"I would like to reassure the community that, although we made an arrest, our investigation is going and moving quickly, as our team of detectives follow all lines of enquiry.

"I would encourage anyone who witnessed this assault or has any other information to contact us as soon as possible"

Police have confirmed that the injured man and woman have both since been released from hospital.
