AMIR Khan came up short against long-term rival Kell Brook at the AO Arena in Manchester.
The Bolton-born boxer suffered a sixth-round stoppage after taking a series of heavy blows from his Yorkshire counterpart.
Here's what boxing fans had to say about the fight that was years in the making.
Cracking fight that. Khan missed too Many punces and let Brook in. Well managed by Brook to get the win #KhanBrook

#KhanBrook Great fight. It was gripping. Brook won every round, only one where Khan looked to be winning but Brook hurt him late and took that too. Brave from Khan, amazed he didn't go down. Great heart. ๐ฅ

Fair play to Khan by the way. He took some heavy shots and was outclassed but he showed a better chin than many expected #KhanBrook

Never been a fan of Kell Brook, but such a deserved win. Won every round imo. I know its been over 2 years, but did expect a bit more from Amir Khan #KhanBrook

That looked like 17 years worth of anger from Kell Brook. 6 round beating. No idea how Khan stayed on his feet. Looked out on his feet! Warrior ๐๐๐
