A CHILDREN'S writer will be signing copies of her books on Sunday.

R. K. Nixon, from Blackrod, has had two books published and will give her fans an opportunity to have copies signed at the Mercure Georgian House Craft and Gift Fair on Sunday, February 27.

Author of ‘The Aquarius Stone’ and ‘Nani Gets Lost’, Nixon began writing seven years ago when her oldest daughter was born.

Her aim was to entertain as well as helping children develop essential life skills through her literature.

Ahead of the signing session, Nixon said: “I always have stories floating around in my head.

"As a speech and language therapist I know the importance of stories for developing children’s language skills.

“It’s been exciting to be able to combine my two passions together.”

Along with the book signing there will be other gifts from local businesses available at the fair which will be open between 10am and 4pm.

Entry and parking to the event, at the hotel in Manchester Road, Bolton, are both free.
