TWO friends are cycling in the nude to reconnect with nature while raising money for charity.

Colin Unsworth, from Bolton ,and Sadie Tann are cycling from John’O’Groats in Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall - completely naked.

To help drive the message of Rewild Britain, Colin is passionate about body freedom and restoring the natural eco-system and will raise money for them as well as mental health charity MIND.

The wild food and mushroom forage leader wants to understand the woodlands and how we can bring back threatened and missing species with the three-week cycle in July but maintains they are not naturist campaigners.

Colin said: “We are body positive people and believe in body freedom and we think that this will be a great way of getting people to hear the rewilding message.

“We are passionate about rewilding and believe that restoring natural eco systems will make our natural environment resilient to change.

“But if we are asked to cover up, we will, as offending anyone isn’t our intention.”

Colin runs his own business, Forest Horizons, where he teaches people how to forage for food and wild edible mushrooms.

Colin said: “Understanding our woodlands and how species connect gives people a new understanding of the nature around them and their role in it.

“The format is a taste of a wild gin, made with foraged ingredients, followed by the forage and then a fry-up. What's not to like?”

Colin believes the best way to reconnect and restore nature is to remove the burden of clothes.

He said: “I believe that society damages people with this ingrained belief that there is something shameful under our clothes.

“We feel that there is nothing more humiliating and ridiculing than being stripped of our clothes. But why? We're all human and alive, and that's to be celebrated.”

Colin has previously worked as a cycling instructor.

Both Sadie and Colin want to document their journey but since they will not be working during this time and don’t have any savings, they have set up a Go Fund Me appeal for equipment.

Hannah Elizabeth Teoh and Neil Brady are also doing the same cycle challenge nude but the other way as Sadie and Colin end theirs.
