WE have been delving into our archives to find photographs which might stir memories and we think have a Wheelie-good idea here.
It was of the ‘Pedal for a Medal’ sponsored charity ride in the 1990s which featured in the Bolton Evening News and it was fundraising for Barnardos.
We have tracked down an information leaflet and sponsorship form for the riders.
There were three different routes - a marathon (one and a half times around the course), route two - intermediate course (14.8 miles) and short course (5.6 miles)/
The event started near the Deane School Playing Fields along Deane Road to College Way, Chorley New Road along to the Beehive and Mason Street onto the Blackrod Pass and back to Snydale Way.
Do you have any memories of the event and photographs and if you have your medal still, email robert.kelly@nqnw.co.uk
