A CRASH occurred earlier this morning on a street in Bolton with paramedics called to the scene.

The collision, involving up to two vehicles took place on Church Street, in Wingates, Westhoughton at around 7am on Wednesday morning.

Passersby reported seeing that the crash appeared to be serious, but the North West Ambulances Service said that no injuries had been reported and that their paramedics were able to clear the scene shortly after attending.

A spokesperson for NWAS said: "We received a call at 7am and were called to Church Street, in Wingates Westhoughton.

"Up to two vehicles were involved but on one was taken to hospital.

"We cleared the area as soon as we arrived so it doesn't look to have been serious."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that officers had not been called to the scene as NWAS had already confirmed to them that the scene in Westhoughton had been cleared.

No road closures were reported to have been in place as a result of the crash.
