BIDS have been made for new alcohol licences at two separate Bolton venues over recent weeks.

If granted, this will allow the Morris Green Mini Market to sell alcohol for drinking off the store premises each day of the week from 7am to 11pm.

In the same period, convenience store Watermelon on Higher Street, Farnworth, has also bid for a licence to sell alcohol between 6am and midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and 6am and 1am from Thursday to Saturday.

A Bolton Council statement said: “Any interested party or responsible authority may make representations to the Council regarding the application during the period of 28 consecutive days starting with the day after the application was lodged with the Council.”

In both cases, potential owners will have the chance to make their cases in support of their bids before Bolton Council’s licensing team.

Officials from the council’s licencing team will be able to inspect both business while their applications are active.

Watermelon’s application will be open for representations until March 17, while The Morris Mini Market’s application will be open until March 31.
