A food bank in Bolton is appealing for food donations to help the vulnerable.

Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank are appealing for donations after a few busy weeks has made them short on vital items for Bolton's vulnerable.

The items they need include long-life fruit juice, pasta and curry sauces, tinned fruit, jam, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

A spokesperson for Farnworth and Kearsley Foodbank said: "We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry.

"That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.

"We are part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK."

People who would like to donate, can do so at the main food bank building at The Well, Trafford Street, Farnworth, BL4 7PQ, or they can be donated at Tesco in Farnworth, Asda in Farnworth, Tesco Extra in Walkden, and Asda, Manchester Road.
