A BOLTON-based insurance company is celebrating winning three awards in the last month.

Stanmore Chartered Insurance Brokers is based in Little Lever, and has been named as ‘Schemes Broker of the Year’ at the National Insurance awards in London – the third time the company has been awarded the title in the past five years.

The award recognised the broker’s nursery insurance scheme that insures nurseries throughout the UK which are responsible for over 120,000 children.

Managing Director Jackie Hyde set up the scheme nearly 25 years ago and it has continued to grow ever since from initially managing £100,000 worth of premium for local nurseries to handling over £4m for the sector nationally today.

The Bolton News:

Ms Hyde has also been named one of Insurance Business UK’s 63 Elite Women this month.

The annual list, compiled by a leading insurance magazine, displays women doing the most for the sector, championing women, girls and female-led businesses and initiatives.

Ms Hyde said: “I love working in insurance. Every day is different and I get to work with some of the most amazing clients from all over the UK.”

The final award went to Stanmore’s Marketing Manager Melanie Smith, who earlier this month was crowned The Women in Leadership Association’s ‘Rising Star.’

The Bolton News:

A spokesperson said: “Stanmore has always been marketing-led and Melanie has helped [us] take [our] marketing to the next level.

“The Women in Leadership Associations Awards coincided with International Women’s Day and this female-led business continues to go from strength-to-strength as these three awards show.”

Stanmore have been providing professional insurance and their personal requirements to businesses in the North West since 1962.

The company is particularly proud of its Bolton heritage and are patrons of Bolton Lads and Girls Club, as well as having a partnership with Bolton Wanderers for the current 2021-22 season.

A statement on their website says: “It is with this home-town pride that motivates us to invest back into the local Bolton community.

“We are surrounded by a vibrant community in Bolton, and it gives us an enormous sense of pride to be a part of it and see it thrive.”
