TWO cars have been seized in Bolton today, Saturday, resulting in one driver being disqualified.
Police managed to stop an Audi TT as part of tactics to prevent a pursuit in Horwich.
It resulted in the driver being disqualified until September.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Traffic said: “The driver of this Audi TT was stopped using Pre emptive tactics in Horwich by Special Response Tasking Team on Gloucester Avenue.
“Pursuit prevented and driver disqualified until Septempber 2022.
“Car seized and driver off to court again.”
In the same day police also seized a Peugeot Partner van on Halliwell Road, which was abandoned after spotting officers on Harvey Street.
A spokesperson for GMP Traffic added: “The Peugeot Partner van was sighted on Halliwell Road Bolton with four males in the front.
“On sighting the Special Response Tasking patrol, it was abandoned on Harvey Street.
“Seized while enquiries are ongoing.”
It comes after PCSOs from the Bolton West Neighbourhood Team seized another vehicle last night, Friday, after reports it was abandoned.
The vehicle was later found to be stolen from Bury.
A spokesperson from GMP Bolton West said: “This evening (Friday) PCSOs from the Bolton West Neighbourhood Team went to check a vehicle on Poplar Avenue in Horwich which was reported to be abandoned, insecure and in poor condition.
“Checks revealed the vehicle to be an outstanding stolen vehicle from Bury.
“The vehicle was recovered.”
