A stolen car that had been taken from the Trafford Centre was found by police on patrol in Bolton.

The car, a dark blue/black Ford, was found by Traffic Police Community Support Officers from GMP’s Bolton South division while on patrol in Farnworth.

During their patrol, they found the Ford abandoned in a car park and on investigating found that it had been stolen earlier in the week.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “XQ11 were patrolling Farnworth last week and came across this vehicle in a car park.

“They established it to be a stolen vehicle that had been taken from the Trafford Centre a few days earlier.

“It was recovered for examination and for reuniting with its owner.”

No arrests have yet been reported in connection with the stolen car.

This comes after other recent cases of vehicle thefts, including the theft of cars in and around the Bolton area in recent months and further afield in Greater Manchester, many of which have been recovered by officers.

Police have appealed for anyone concerned about vehicle theft or about other cases of crime and anti-social behaviour on the roads to phone 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
