A BOLTON-based company that provides fully managed lettings provision for schools has accepted an offer of investment.

Edu-Lettings’ mission is to provide a better standard of service, delivery and quality to schools who are looking to outsource the management of their lettings provision.

EDU has welcomed the investment from SchoolHire, an organisation that provides a booking platform that is used by nearly 600 schools.

The new partnership will enable the continued growth of EDU, which is currently working with 66 schools, by adding expertise and industry knowledge to their board.
The co-founder of EDU, Mike Blundell, has sold his shares but will continue to be a part of the business in the role of Operations Director whilst fellow founder Nick Bowen will undertake a new role of Managing Director.

SchoolHire’s David Nevies ACA will be assisting predominantly in a financial capacity.

The two companies will also look to work together more on tenders and opportunities to ensure that it can provide any one of the 3 main services that schools may require in relation to their facility hire - being a booking platform, a fully managed service, or a hybrid of the two without the staffing provision.

Nick Bowen said: “I am really excited to gain the industry knowledge and expertise of both David and Charlie who have been so successful with SchoolHire, whilst retaining Mike’s operational leadership, all of which can only strengthen EDU and its position in the market and ensure that we continue to grow and keep providing world-class delivery of our services.

"I can further assure all stakeholders that our company ethos, culture or operational focuses will not change due to the shareholding change, with myself, as managing director, continuing to have ownership on business direction.”

SchoolHire’s Charlie Gothold said: “We have known Nick now for a few years, on the client side, and have always been impressed with his drive, determination and focus on putting both schools and community users at the heart of everything he does.

When the opportunity arose for us to align ourselves closer with Nick, by investing into EDU, we didn’t hesitate.”
