The reality show following the lives of Bolton boxing star Amir Khan and his family makes a return to our screens next week.

Entitled Meet The Khans: Big in Bolton, the show follows the lives of the boxer and his wife Faryal Makhdoom, as well as their three children, Lamaisah, Alayna and Zaviyar.

The first episode of the new series will premiere on BBC Three and iPlayer on Thursday, April 28.

The previous series aired in March 2021, following the family in their lives in Bolton and Dubai, and was nominated for Best Multichannel Programme at the Broadcast Awards

The news came after Faryal had been teasing the arrival of a second series on social media.

The positive announcement comes after the shocking incident earlier this week in which Khan and Makhdoom were robbed at gunpoint in London, with his luxury watch believed to be worth £75,000 being stolen.

Amir posted on his social media accounts regarding the incident, detailing how he and Faryal were crossing the road in East London on Monday evening when he was held at gunpoint.

He said that two men approached him, then pointed guns at him and asked for his watch, which he handed over.

Khan's professional career has suffered since the last series.

In February, he was beaten in the ring a fight by long-term British rival Kell Brook after a longstanding rivalry between them.

The fight, which took place at Manchester Arena, lasted until the sixth round, when the referee stepped in to end the match.

Meet The Khans: Big in Bolton series 2 will be on BBC Three on Thursday, April 28.
