TikTok is one of the most popular apps out there and reflects the growing trend of social media giants moving towards video-led content.

Users can watch others' videos and create their own, incorporating a wide variety of features including filters, music and special effects.

The nature of the app means you are exposed to a lot of content in a short space of time - especially if you're a serial scroller.

As with all social media apps, there's often a theme or selection of trends which dominate and go viral.

One issue users sometimes encounter is that they stumble across a great video but when they go back to find it later on they're unable to.

This may be down to them forgetting the username of the creator, for example.

But it's actually really simple to find the videos you've previously watched within a seven-day period on the app itself.

Below is an explainer of how to do just that.

How to see your TikTok history and previously watched videos

  1. Go to the “Discover” section which can be found by tapping the option at the bottom of the app.
  2. Type an asterisk (*) into the search function and then go to the filter section and toggle the option for “Watched videos”.
  3. You can then sort the search by toggling either the “Relevance” or “Most liked” options.

This will then bring up all the content you have viewed in the past seven days.
