Local interest group Horwich Heritage will be hosting a new exhibition at the Horwich Heritage Centre on Beaumont Road this spring, going into summer.
The exhibition will be centred around the 175th anniversary of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway and will open on Saturday, April 30 at 10am. It will be open until Friday, July 1.
It will include model steam locomotives and historic film footage.
Horwich Heritage were formed in 1985 in efforts to re-establish a sense of local pride, with the Horwich Locomotive Works having been closed the previous year.
It aims to stimulate public interest in the area, as well as providing suitable premises for the display of social and industrial history.
The group moved into the current Horwich Heritage Centre in 2006, having had a heritage centre within the Horwich Resource Centre since 1995.
