A young girl had her bike stolen in Tonge Moor, only a week after getting it.

Destiny Carson, 12, was sat in her friends’ car in Tonge Moor at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, April 27, when the man stole her bike.

Her mother, Kim Carson, 38, told The Bolton News about the theft.

She said: “She was sat in the car with her friend on Moorfield Grove with the door open when a lad dressed in black with a grey mask on came past.

“At first she thought he was looking for something on the floor because he bent down, but then he just picked up her bike and started wheeling it away.”

Kim added: “When she got out of the car to see what was happening, he got on and rode off.”

Destiny is “mortified” about the incident, according to her mother, who said: “She ran home to tell Bradley, her brother.

"She just wants her bike back.

“She had only had the bike for a week.

"She’d waited and waited for it, now this happens. We hadn’t even had it long enough to get a photo, so the photo we’ve been using is of a similar bike.”

Kim is aghast at the behaviour of the man.

She added: “I’m absolutely fuming. How someone can be sad enough to do that, it’s sickening.”
