The founder of a youth project in Halliwell has published a poetry book, with the proceeds going towards setting up a mental health counselling service.

Charlie Barrett, who set up Harmony Youth project, has penned “Charlie Charles: Life Lessons Learned”.

The mental health counselling service will aim to assist young people dealing with the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns..

Charlie hopes the book will reach as many people as possible.

Charlie said: “ Because the earnings from this book will be going directly towards this service and the much needed work we could provide. We will be opening an ambassador programme to ensure the book reaches as many people as possible and assist in the raising of funds. Each book will be sold at £8, we’re currently looking for ambassadors if you or someone you know is interested in helping with this cause.

"We are also currently searching for a local celebrity who might be interested in helping promote and endorse this book and the cause it is backing.

"In total we aim to raise £20k to get this off the ground. This book is however not the only avenue we are looking at to raise funds for this cause, we will be holding other fundraisers and events in the name of this cause, the information on each event as it comes along will be posted on our website and social media pages, please check it out to keep up to date on this exciting avenue we’re expanding."
