THE host of a popular ITV game show paid tribute to a contestant from Bolton as he announced she had died before the episode was aired.
Retired school bus driver Cath was seen by viewers this afternoon competing in Tipping Point.
Presenter Ben Shepherd announced before the show had aired that Cath had died since the recording the show, and passed his love to her family.
Cath was seen competing against two other contestants in the show based on the coin pusher arcade game.
All smiles, Cath was the first to leave the show saying she ‘didn’t want to go home’ with Ben responding ‘I don’t want you to go home either’ adding she had been ‘wonderful’ Posting on social media, Ben said: “Today’s Tipping Point is a poignant one.
“Since recording the show, lovely contestant Cath has passed away.
“Our thoughts and love are with her family and friends.”
He also posted a picture of her backstage.

Family and friends thanked him for his words.
One said: “Thank you for you kind words for my nan. She was so excited that she got to meet you.”
Another post stated: “Thank you Ben, she was a fantastic friend and neighbour to us all.”
Described her as well-loved, another added: “Cath was a great neighbour and well loved. Thank you again for fulfilling her wish.”
