A GLASS or two will be raised as a craft beer festival rolls into town this summer.

Popular bar and brewery Northern Monkey Brew Co is bringing a beer festival back to Bolton town centre as it prepares to stage 'Monkey on the Town'.

Co-owner of Northern Monkey Liam Convey said: "We wanted to bring back a beer festival in Bolton town centre, as there hasn't been one for a while.

"Now we have our Brewery Tap Room on Chorley Street we can go head and do it.

"I think a beer festival in the centre works because it is easily accessible for the whole of the town ."

The festival will take place on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 at the Taproom under a grand marquee with outside seating.

There will be live music and food along with fine beers and ales.

Liam added: "We will have some of the best local and national breweries on offer in the shape of 12 cask and 12 keg lines.

"We will be serving up the best beers from Cloudwater, Verdant, Rivington and Pomona Island to name a few.

The Bolton News:

"We will also have Bolton's very own Bank Top Brewery and Blackedge Brewery's finest flowing from the pumps. And of course, Northern Monkey Brew Co will have plenty of their favourites on offer from over the years as well as a couple of new beers to try out and a collaboration or two."

All festival goers will receive a free glass, free drink and 'Monkey On The Town' Festival Programme as, says Liam, ' a reminder of the year when a proper Beer Festival returned to Bolton town centre' .

He said: "We simply cannot wait for this one."

The festival comes after Northern Monkey staged its hugely popular Monkey in the Woods’ beer festival last September in Barrow Bridge.
