A WOMAN has been jailed for 26 weeks after she was caught driving a Vauxhall Corsa whilst banned from holding a licence.

Wigan magistrates heard how Vicky Strange, aged 36, of Nottingham Drive, Bolton, was behind the wheel of the car, which was bearing false registration plates, on Brownlow Way, Bolton, on May 4.

She pleaded guilty to driving whilst banned and without insurance and fraudulently using a registration plate.

At the time Strange was subject to a community sentence for driving whilst banned and other offences.

In addition to the jail sentence, Strange was fined £120 plus £219 in costs and charges and was banned from applying for a driving licence for four years.
