A Subway branch could be set to be moved at a Bolton petrol station to make way for a new food and drink service area.

A bid has been made to Bolton Council for Meadow Service Station, on Bury Road, to repurpose the area with new tills, cabinet and a new updated seating area with kitchen equipment.

Town hall officials will now consider the application, made by Motor Fuel Limited, before deciding on whether to let them go ahead with the plans.

A council statement said: “Any interested party or responsible authority may make representations to the council regarding the application during the period of 28 consecutive days starting with the day after the application was lodged with the Council, that day being May 6 2022.

“The last day for representations to be made will therefore be May 3 2022.

“All representations must be made in writing.”

Council inspectors will visit the Bury Road premises themselves before a final decision is taken by the licencing committee.

Motor Fuel Limited will have the opportunity to make a case for the bid during this time, while members of the community, local councillors and other nearby businesses will also have the opportunity to explain their views on the matter.
