A bid is underway to install a new Karaoke booth and move the gaming machines at a Bolton pub.

If granted this will see Hogarths on Churchgate move its gaming machines and reduce the space on the lower trading area in order to make more space on the upper area for the new booth.

The application has been made to Bolton Council who will now consider the bid.

A council statement said: “Any interested party or responsible authority may make representations to the council regarding the application during the period of 28 consecutive days starting with the day after the application was lodged with the Council, that day being May 5 2022.

“The last day for representations to be made will therefore be 2 June 2022.

“All representations must be made in writing.”

Inspectors will visit the premises during this time to see for themselves where the new booth will go.

Amber Taverns Ltd, which owns Hogarths will have the opportunity to make a case for the bid to Bolton Council during the course of this time, while members of the community, local councillors and other nearby businesses will also have the opportunity to explain their views on the matter.

A decision will be taken by Bolton Council’s licensing committee later this year.
