THE Hawthorns in Blackrod has opened under new ownership and management as venue for weddings, christening and other functions.

New owners Kris Dawber and Jack Singleton have taken over the venue, which last year went into liquidation, and transformed it into a stunning venue.

The team behind The Hawthorns say the venue will be exclusive use only, meaning only one booked event will take place at anyone time, with guests have sole use of the suites and garden area.

The pair have been working in the wedding and events industry for many years with their established businesses Boxoso and Betty’s Tipis.

Kris, who has lived local to The Hawthorns throughout his life, said: “Thank you for all your support over the last few weeks as we have been busy restoring and decorating our new venture."

The two stress they have no affiliation with the previous management.

Kris added: "Myself, as well as many of my team grew up in Blackrod, so we know just how special this venue is to those in surrounding areas and we look forward to building its reputation back up to where it deserves to be.”

Jack, who owns Betty’s Tipis and Betty’s Kitchen, has more than 20 years’ experience within the wedding, events and catering industry. He will be bringing with him to The Hawthorns his knowledge and expertise, as well as the talented chefs at Betty’s Kitchen.

Jack said: “We have been lucky enough to work within some amazing venues over the years and having one of our own is something we have worked hard for. We aim to deliver each client a bespoke experience, helping you plan your day as well as sourcing and delivering great food to suit all culinary tastes. You can be sure that you are in safe hands when you book an event with us.”

After the success of the first Wedding Open Day in April, The Hawthorns will be hosting another Wedding/Venue Open Day on Sunday 29th May from 11am – 3pm, we would love for people to come along and take in our gorgeous space, garden and views.
