A bid has been made for a new bar and music venue in Bolton town centre to open until 3am.

If granted this will allow a new venue, VIP Palace, a licence to sell alcohol and host live music events on Bold Street, just behind Newport Street in the town centre.

The venue will be allowed to remain open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays if the application is approved by Bolton Council.

A council statement said: “Any interested party or responsible authority may make representations to the council regarding the application during the period of 28 consecutive days starting with the day after the application was lodged with the Council, that day being May 10 2022.

“The last day for representations to be made will therefore be June 7 2022.

“All representations must be made in writing.”

Council inspectors may be visiting the premises during this time to see for themselves what arrangement have been made.

If granted, the venue will be able to sell alcohol between 5pm and 10.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and between 6pm and 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

It will also be able to play music between 5pm and 11pm from Sunday to Thursday and from 6pm to 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
