MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to have treatment for alcohol addiction after he attempted to burgle a business unit in Breightmet on December 7, 2020.
At Wigan Magistrates’ Court Philip Norris, aged 34, of Cheriton Drive, Bolton, pleaded guilty to trespassing at Unit B on Breightmet Fold Lane, with intend to steal and failing to attend court.
He was sentenced to 15 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and, in addition to the alcohol treatment, must participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
He was ordered to pay £500 in compensation.
