A man has spoken of his sadness after his precious watch was stolen in a burglary.

Paul Richardson, who lives in Morris Green, woke on Wednesday morning to find someone had broken into his home and stolen precious items, including his Michael Kors watch, which was given to him from his late stepdad.

Other goods such as game consoles were also taken during the burglary.

Paul, 29, said: “Me, my partner and my daughter were asleep upstairs when someone broke the lock on the front door and stole some items.

“It was a grab and rush.”

He added: “Mainly games consoles were stolen, but they must have come across the watch on the kitchen table, because I wear it every day and that’s where I leave it.”

Paul described how important the watch is to him.

He said: “It is the only thing that cannot be replaced. The other things can be replaced, but this can’t.

“My stepdad gave it to me two months before he passed away in 2019.”

The Michael Kors watch was silver and gold and had “love from Farnworth” inscribed on it.

Paul added: “The insurance company said the watch can be replaced in the quote, but it’s not the watch that’s the point, it’s the memory.”
