Bolton’s nationally renowned Octagon Theatre has put out a casting call for young actors to take part in one of its latest plays.
The theatre is looking for four talented you performers between the ages of 11 and 15 to play the leading roles in a production of the musical The Book Thief.
The play was written by authors Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen MacDonald.
A statement from the theatre said: “Audition call out for young performers aged 11-15
“We are looking for young performers to be part of our new musical, The Book Thief.
“First round of auditions will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022.”
Actors of any ethnicity can audition for the roles and the Octagon is particularly looking for performers who look to be around the age of 12.
Actors must also be strong singers to be able to perform the show’s musical numbers, written by Kate Andersson and Elyssa Samsel.
The first round of auditions will take around two hours and theatre managers say these will take place in a relaxed and relatively informal atmosphere.
Anyone wishing to apply can email a completed application form, found on the Octagon’s website and a photo consent form to casting@octagonbolton.co.uk by Friday, May 27.
