An erotic fiction writer's new novel centred around a billionaire and a damsel in distress has proven to be a hit success.

Joy Elizabeth Mullet, from Bolton, is usually cutting hair but after the first lockdown forced her to sit at home with nothing to do, she started reading and writing erotic fiction.

Her first novel "I’ve Found Her" was published on Tuesday, May 10 and has already reached number two in erotic fiction genres on Amazon.

She said: “It’s amazing to be up there with authors who I think have inspired me to do mine.

“I was shocked to see how well it was doing in a short amount of time and I’m already working on my next novel.

“I didn’t think I’d be doing this when I was off work due to Covid but I’m glad I got to write it and have a second career doing this.”

Joy read some erotic fiction herself during the lockdown.

She said: “I read 365 days in the lockdown and it really got me into the genre. I think it’s an escape and a bit of a taboo subject, but a lot of people read it now.

“Fifty Shades of Grey made this genre really popular.

“It’s a fantasy and it spices up your sex life.

"My husband and I have been together for 20 years and writing this spiced up our sex life and made us feel more confident as we make more effort with each other.”

Erotic fiction can be often more comfortable for women as it’s sometimes considered soft porn.

The novel follows Bella as she relocates to a new city to move away from an abusive ex.

Bella crosses paths with cold billionaire Damien, who is not interested in relationships until he meets Bella.

The two lovers find themselves entangled in love and passion as they fight to stay together as Damien’s enemies plan to take away what means most to him.

Joy said: “Women feel more adventurous and not as something strange.

“It’s not like Fifty Shades of Grey with BDSM or anything.

“It’s just to people falling in love and it describes their sexual encounters in detail.

“It explores the relationship, their sex and how you can feel with someone. It’s exciting.”
